Physician Code of Conduct

Physician Code of Conduct

Effective Date: October 8, 2026

Gust Health is committed to facilitating responsible, ethical and patient-centered healthcare through affiliated licensed medical professionals.

This Code of Conduct describes the professional standards expected of healthcare providers participating in services facilitated through Gust Health.

Patient-Centered Care

Providers should treat patients with professionalism, respect and compassion.

Patients may be unfamiliar with telehealth services, and providers should clearly explain the consultation process, treatment recommendations and next steps.

Independent Medical Judgment

All medical decisions must be based on the provider's independent professional judgment and applicable standards of care.

Patient safety and clinical appropriateness must take precedence over commercial considerations.

Appropriate Evaluation

Before recommending or prescribing treatment, providers should review relevant medical history, current medications, allergies, potential contraindications and other clinically relevant information.

When information is incomplete or unclear, providers should seek clarification or recommend additional evaluation.

Informed Consent

Providers should explain material treatment risks, benefits, alternatives and limitations and obtain applicable informed consent.

Accurate Documentation

Providers should maintain appropriate clinical records documenting consultations, medical assessments, treatment decisions and prescriptions.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Providers must protect patient information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, professional obligations and platform security requirements.

Patient information should only be accessed or disclosed for authorized purposes.

Professional Qualifications

Providers must maintain appropriate professional licensure, qualifications and authorization to deliver care in the relevant jurisdictions.

Appropriate Prescribing

Prescriptions must be based on legitimate clinical assessments and comply with applicable laws, regulations and professional standards.

Providers should exercise particular care when evaluating treatment requests involving compounded medications.

Follow-Up Care

Providers should support appropriate follow-up and provide patients with guidance regarding treatment questions, side effects and circumstances requiring additional evaluation.

Emergencies

Telehealth services are not a substitute for emergency medical care.

Providers should direct patients to emergency services or in-person evaluation when clinically necessary.

Professional Conduct

Providers are expected to maintain professional boundaries, communicate respectfully and avoid conduct that compromises patient safety or professional independence.
